"I came to London and to the MA Visual Culture programme looking
for a new route to combine with my Interior Design degree, and for
new inspiration. Technically I am from Washington , DC but my heart
is from Medellin, Colombia and so is my family. I have found
inspiration in London and in the programme , and I am excited to
bring these experiences to Colombia"

In reponse to her work experience
"MAKE is a small organization and I felt that the work I was
doing making a difference in the office. I helped to organise fundraising
events including a series of talks by various women artists, and
Professor Germaine Greer. Overall, I loved working there, all of
the women were very helpful."

"I am frequently surprised at how newly acquired
knowledge turns one in a new and quite unexpected direction.
Amongst all the ideas new to me I came into contact with during
my MA Visual Culture course at University of Westminster, the most
profound was the idea of reflectivity. I quickly grasped the importance
of this principle in teaching; that learners could be shown how
standard interpretation remains only one interpretation, and that
others are in all probability equally valid and worth equal consideration.
After my MA I undertook a PGCE at Sheffield Hallam University, in
post-compulsory education, this being the area of teaching I perceived
as having a disproportionately high number of fragile learners who
often suffer from low self-esteem. Reflectivity is a method whereby
their experiences and stories can be shown to have value in the
pursuit of creativity. I put this principle successfully into practice
during ten months teaching at Derby College of Art and Design. With
appointment to my first full-time post as lecturer in 3D studies
at North West Kent College, I now have the opportunity to develop
these ideas further."
