We are at in an interesting point in the history of mankind, we are currently right at the point where we are crossing over the line of cheap energy usage and from here on in energy will become increasingly expensive.

It is our responsibility as intellectuals to both lower our consumption needs by becoming more elegant with designs as well as developing and researching sustainable new energy sources.

We don't have long! we have about 15-20 year at most to have in place fully functional new energy producing systems and to have decreased our requirements considerably (like in the 80% range).

Our current level of consumption is not only wasteful it is downright unrespectful of the resources and the needs that future generations will require.

For the sake of our sustainability and that of future generations having to avoid lifetime recessions it is imperative we invest now into research and education of technology and design (including the arts) to ensure no stone is left unturned.
