Over the last couple of years, technology has advanced at such a pace that the once thought of fantasy of 3D tv has now become a reality. Now, it is possible to not only watch Hollywood movies in 3D at home, but also sporting events via satellite as well!
So, what has made this possible? Obviously, the developments in technology have had a lot to do with it, but the driving force is the film industry. They recognised that not only can they attract new audiences with 3D films in cinemas, but also, they can then sell the DVD or Blu Ray version in 3D as well.
In addition to the film industry, Sky have also been offering some sporting events in 3D, with more being added as time goes on. This puts some quite interesting angles on football matches, especially during set pieces such as corners, free kicks and penalties.
The gaming industry is not far behind. The main manufacturers of the games consoles are all currently adapting, or specially making games that will be 3D capable. This will make the next generation of Wii absolutely fantastic!
With this new technology having so much support, and continuing research and development, it is certainly here to stay. To see if it is for you, try one out at your nearest electrical store, and you will soon become a convert!
